Level 0 is the first level of the Back Rooms; it is the first, and often times last, level you will encounter. Level 0 resembles the back-rooms of a retail outlet, and is the namesake of the larger Back Rooms. The Lobby is uniform in appearence, featuring an estimated six-hundred-million miles of mono-yellow patterned wallpaper, old carpet, and inconsistently spaced flourescent lights inside of a drop ceiling. Upon investigation, the inside of the drop ceiling houses a clutter of cables and ventilation ducts, with a dense dust in the air blocking your vision beyond a few feet. Faint lights can be seen in the distance, but it's advised to avoid them. Attempts to break through the upper ceiling have failed.
Every room of Level 0 is entirely unique, and has a nasty habit of rearranging itself when not being interacted with, making it impossible to map specific locations. You can close a door to one room, and open it to a completely different room, or even walk in a straight line and end up in the same room again. This property can be prevented by leaving something in-between each room, such as placing a chair in the doorway of two rooms, or laying a string through each room as you travel, but this can be a bad idea.
Rooms within Level 0 can be found in various states of decay; while most rooms are abandoned yet intact, rooms can be found with faded, peeling wallpaper, flickering or broken lights, and damp carpets. The subtance saturating the carpet cannot be identified; it is not water, nor is it safe to consume. Other rooms can be found in a state of construction, as if someone is trying to repair the area; these rooms are useful, as you can find various tools and supplies. Black mold can be found growing in some rooms, with black shelf fungus on the walls and faint spores in the air. These rooms are extremely dangerous and need to be avoided at all cost. Reports of entities increase exponentially near these moldy rooms. Other unique rooms appear very rarely, including blood red dark-rooms and enclosed rooms along the outer edges of The Lobby referred to as the Manilla Rooms.
A variety of objects can be found in The Lobby. I've seen chairs, couches, house plants, clothing, electrical outlets, security cameras, and even cars. Most of the electrical outlets work, aswell as the security cameras, which beg the question, who's watching? Bodies can also be found, often with black mold surrounding the corpse; some of them have been here for years, maybe decades. Corpses of other entities can be found aswell, mangled and decaying, but always dead.
I have never found any living creatures in Level 0. I'm sure they exist, but The Lobby is so vast, that it's unlikely you will ever cross paths with another living being, human or otherwise. Level 0 is empty, and you are alone. Your biggest threat in Level 0 isn't entities, but starvation; that's why everything here is dead. There are no sources of food or water, so your best chance of survival is to escape as quickly as possible.
Entrances:
The only way to enter the Back Rooms is by no-clipping; this is nearly impossible to do on purpose in The Front Rooms.
Exits:
The most consistent ways of exiting The Lobby are by finding a door labeled "EXIT", or finding a staircase leading either up or down. Both of these exits will lead you to Level 1. Your jounrey has only just begun, so keep moving.
