The Clippy Webring

"Would you like some assistance today?"
What is the Clippy movement?

The Clippy movement began on August 7th, 2025 by Louis Rossman. He made a video on YouTube in response to the platform's push for AI age verification. For many people, this decision was the boiling point to a steadily rising resentmnet towards the invasive policies of the mainstream InterNet. Rossman sought to rally a peaceful protest against YouTube's oppressive policies and willful ignorance towards its user's voices. He started this movement with a simple plan: change your YouTube profile picture to an image of Clippy to encourage others and show that they were not alone in this fight. Since then, users all across Youtube have witnessed the take over of Clippy, but Rossman did not want this movement to be meerly performative. He posted a follow-up, encouraging supporters of the Clippy movement to stand against anti-user policies wherever and whenever they can. This movement is likely to reach far beyond Youtube and other social medias. For years users have voiced their concerns over an ever growing "Corporate Web," and it seems Rossman was the match needed to light the fire.

What is the Clippy Webring?

I built this webring so that fellow supporters of the Clippy movement can be further connected on the IndieWeb. YouTube, and the CorporateWeb as a whole, has become such a mixed bag that many, aswell as myself, have slowly fazed it out of our daily lives. This Webring is a way to bring together likeminded individuals who are tired of being denied the InterNet that we were promised so many years ago. On this page you will find occasional updates about the Clippy movement, and how its supporters have mobilized; as well as resources for how to peacefully protest, rights and codes that you should know in the US legal system and various CorporateWeb pages, and indie alternatives to many corporate sites. Clippy never wanted your ID, and neither should the so-called "user based" platforms that claim to have your best interest in mind.

Who am I?

My name is Crow Camozzi! I am a self-taught front end developer with intermediate experience in HTML, CSS, and very basic JS. I love music, I play lead trumpet in bands and ensembles, I am studying to be an electrical engineer, and I adore all things technology. I love independent corners of the InterNet still free from the grips of corporate influence. I began building my website Corvus-Nidum to distance myself from the monotonous routine of doom-scrolling and wasting time. I have always had a hatred for corporations overstepping their boundaries because they know they have created too strong of ties in their industry, whether it be Youtube, or SnapChat, or virually any other social media at this point. Suffice it to say, I have been waiting for someone like Louis Rossman to come around and unite people towards one cause. More than anything however, I love Jesus. I want to bring people closer together, and get them away from the toxic and sinful envoronment of the modern day InterNet.
