What Is This Place?:
I've been stuck here for some time, and I believe I am able to decipher some of its oddities. It seems that this place is a sort of "out-of-bounds" for the universe. I don't believe that our world is a simulation, but I do believe there is more to it than we are aware. Like a game developer, God has created this place to develop and test pieces of our world, as well as other worlds. God created our world, yes, but who's to say He hasn't made worlds beyond ours? There are things in this space that defy all reason, and I can only conclude that they must come from some other realm. Perhaps, these things do not exist only in this world, but exist in some other universe aswell. It appears that these back-rooms are a waypoint, connecting the infinite realms into one space for God to "playtest". Essentially, our world is only one chapter of God's "game", and there are many other chapters all connected by the out-of-bounds, the dead space. These back-rooms weren't designed to be a space, but they are the literal abscense of space; they are the in-between.
CoST:
Want to know the CoST of staying in a level? ask ODESSA!
CoST stands for the "Chance of Staying There", and ODESSA stands for "Overall; Documentation; Entities; Safety; Stability; Additional".
The ODESSA scale goes as follows:
(O)verview — 0-40(a); adds all 4 aspects to give an at-a-glance view of the level.
(D)ocumentation — 0-10; 0="Cognito hazard": This level actively corrupts information about itself, 10="Fully Documented": The level is small enough or sensible enough to fully document its terrain, characteristics, and points of interest.
(E)ntities — 0-10(a); 0="entity infestation", 0a="extremely hostile entities", 10="no entities", 10a="extremely friendly entities"
(S)afety — 0-10; 0="environmental hazards", 10="safe haven"
(S)tability — 0-10; 0="Highly unstable": There is a high chance of noclipping and the level is highly unpredicatble. You may enter a door and turn around to find it gone, 10="Stable": It is nearly impossible to accidentally noclip, and the level will not change its structure in any way.
(A)dditional — This space is for anything else worth noting about the level that can't necessarily be quantified.
